Even Superheroes Can Have an Off Day...

This photo of some local Halloween decor was taken in honor of the Humor Bloggers' Halloween Humor Carnival.

There were a few more spiders there a couple of days ago, but when we had some torrential downpours on Sunday, I guess the not-so-eensy-weensy spider had some waterspout issues and, well... we all know where things degrade from there.

Anyway, I'm afraid I have some other tasks I must flee to attend to today--- but before said flee-age, I did want to announce the following:

I'm currently working on a few extra-curricular writing projects, which I will be sure to share news of with you fine folks when complete....

One, in fact, involves rewriting a humor science-fantasy novel I'd done many moons ago, and which, I discovered, the final-final draft could actually be delightfully unsucky, if it gets some loving care....

I'm hoping to give it that care, to help it grow up into a big, strapping, confident self-sufficient novel no longer living in my basement and eating the food from my refrigerator. I hope to shove it OUT of the house, and let it make something of itself.

You know how kids these days are. You've gotta use tough love.

So, what this all amounts to from your perspective is, I'll be temporarily changing my posting schedule here to a Monday-Wednesday-Friday dealio, so I can get some extra time to pull together these other projects.

Unless we can figure out personal cloning. In which case, I'll take two clones.

One can work on my extra writing projects. One can work my Real Job. And me? I could finally have that nice vacation I've been longing for...

Clone scientists?-- email me.

Before I read the first paragraph I was staring at the picture wondering what was so unusual about it.
Broken Top-right window ? Then I saw the big spider and realized the that was not a broken window.

Last year (or was more that that) I had the insey-weensy-spider song stuck to my head so bad, that it almost cost me ! Couldn't focus on anything and all that. But now I am over with that. :D

All the best with your writing project ! Keeping up with you everyday is already a brain work out ! LOL !

Have you previously published other Novels/Books ?

Jaffer- Yeah, I drive by the giant spiders every day and they make me smile-- I apologize they didn't show up quite as well as I'd have liked. I was on a real time crunch today.

Heh, I didn't know folks were trying to keep up with ME. :)

Regarding the publications, I've had a couple of short stories published, as well as an article in Romantic Homes magazine.

But while I've drafted a number novels over the years-- did one in high school (it's terrible!) and two in college, then this last one-- none of them were ever accepted for publication.

I'm hoping to remedy that this go-around.

I can't wait to real your novel! If you need a subject for your second one, I will give you the rights to my life story.

Kirsten- Oh, m'dear, people will be looking for an AUTOBIOGRAPHY from YOU, the real thing. Reverend Queen Mother Kirsten etc., etc., etc. (How many titles have you given yourself now?) Not any lousy biography by some two-bit hack blogger friend.

I can't wait for the final product. It will be the first book I intend to read from cover to cover since Green Eggs and Ham. (plot spoiler--they are delicious) :)

Now I can't stop

I'll read it after my blog
I'll read it in a fog
I'll read it in the morn
I'll read it til the pages are worn
I'll read it in my car
I'll really read it Jenn you are.

I think I need to apologize to the heirs of Dr. Suess.

Da Old Man- I think we (the Jane Austen Bobblehead and I) will have to make you the honorary poet of Cabbages. :)

We don't currently have an honorary poet (Jane can't write poetry for beans) and I think you offer the sort of work which resonates with the masses.

Plus- Green Eggs and Ham is a classic! Cheers, Joe!

It's so exciting to hear your book is nearly all growd up! Woot!

btw, Joe's tribute to you a la Dr. Suess--hilarious! :)

Chat Blanc- Well my book is a teenager right now. It'll be all growed up once this last go-round. But it sucks less than the other drafts did-- huzzah!

And yes, Joe's entirely too funny. I think Dr. Seuss would be proud.

Good luck! I'd love to read it when it's all growed up!

Good luck. Remember to stop and drink, I mean, eat.

It kills me that by cutting back a bit you still will post more often than me. What the hell, woman!? Are you a writing machine???

Good luck with your projects. I would love to devote time to a book, but I'm lazy as all get out. Can't I just come over to your place, recite my thoughts and you make 'em sound publishable? I'll bring bacon. And cake.

Reforming Geek- Hey thanks!

Meg- I probably better not WUI (write under the influence)-- although, hey, maybe it might help! :)

Kathy- Heh, I have just no barometer for these things-- at my real job, I get projects where I have to write an entire web site in a day and a half. I'm one of those overachievers that actually doesn't achieve anything. :)

And yes, come-- visit-- bring bacon! :)
